So, you just opened your fitness studio…
That’s TERRIFIC!
But now you have a problem: How the heck do you get more people through your studio doors?
I’m going to be real with you.
2020 wasn’t your average year. It was a struggle—especially for small business owners.
We all entered a phase of the unknown, and even now, in 2021, we still aren’t sure what the future holds.
Fitness and wellness studio owners know this all too well. Many had to close their doors for weeks or even months at a time.
First, let me be clear: your clients’ health and safety should always be your number one priority.
However, getting people to walk through your fitness studio doors is a struggle, whether we are in a global pandemic or not.
1. Influencer campaigns: Working with local influencers to attract new clients is a must!
Start by searching your area’s geographical hashtags on Instagram or another social media platform, and add “fitness.” For example, if you’re in New York, search “nycfitness” and see who shows up.
Reach out to influencers and offer complimentary gym memberships or classes in exchange for them posting on social media and leaving online reviews.
You can even create a custom code they can share with their followers to get them in the gym as well.
2. Strategic brand partnerships: What’s better than promoting your health and wellness studio or gym? Supporting another business while doing it!
Is there a delicious smoothie shop in the same complex as your gym? What about a quirky café?
Stop in, introduce yourself, and see if they are interested in working together!
You can offer their staff and customers a discounted membership or a private group class, in exchange for them creating a menu item specifically for your gym members.
3. Social media: Having a social media presence is CRUCIAL.
Did you know 64% of people who book a class at a fitness studio look them up on social media first?
That’s why social media marketing is so important for your studio—even if you don’t think you need it, you do.
Start engaging with your local community, studio members, and prospects on social media—don’t just post pretty photos!
To wrap it up: always think outside of the box when strategizing ways to get more people into your gym. Don’t be afraid to get creative!
